On Monday 17 December 2018, the Board of Directors of the Omani Society for Intellectual Property held its third meeting this year, chaired by the lawyer and legal consultant, Mr. Ali Bin Khamis Al Alawi, who is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, and attended by the members of the Board.
At the start of the meeting, the Chairman welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their participation in the meeting. Likewise, the Chairman commended the efforts made by all members of the Society over the past period that have yielded a number of local initiatives and participation, and he made some reference to the fact that the Society was moving ahead towards the strengthening of its administrative components, which would contribute a great deal to achieving its objectives, in addition to participation by the Society in some IP-related events at the domestic level in cooperation with its partners in the State and private sectors. He also called for continued efforts.
The agenda of the meeting of Board of Directors included “taking a look” at the accomplishments of the Board and at the efforts made in recent times by the Chairman and the members of the Board on the various areas. The agenda also included a review of the progress made by the Society’s administrative and technical committees, approving the applications for the new members, and determining the membership fees for next year. The Board adopted appropriate decisions on those matters.
